Der erste Vorgangerbau der St. Aegidius Kirche in Wiedenbruck wird um 900 datiert. Die oestlichen Teile des heutigen Baus stammen aus dem 13. Jahrhundert, das Hallenlanghaus wurde im 16. Jahrhundert errichtet. Das Ausstattungsensemble der Kirche ist reich und vielfaltig, zu den altesten Stucken gehoert ein spatromanischer Leuchter, der sich allerdings unter Verschluss befindet. Die grossen Tafelgemalde des Kreuzwegs von Anton Waller entstammen der Wiedenbrucker Schule, die noch im 19. Jahrhundert kurz nach ihrer Entstehung uberregionale Bedeutung gewann.
